Codons of Consciousness : Neurological 3 Characteristics of Ordinary and Pathological 4 States of Consciousness 5

چکیده

6 Abstract It may eventually be possible to identify completely the temporal 7 sequences of electrical microstates that underlie consciousness. From these “codons 8 of consciousness” a DNA-like mathematical model of normal sequencing of the 9 “atoms of thought” could be constructed and matched to subjective experience and 10 behaviour. This would allow the prediction of thought and behaviour from the 11 building blocks of consciousness. Having an intimate knowledge of the sequencing 12 of units of consciousness may allow abnormal patterns of behaviour to be identified 13 even in early childhood and appropriate corrective treatments to be developed. The 14 development of this research may result in treatments for the main pathological 15 problems that trouble all human kind.

Naturalizing Self-Consciousness

The crucial problem of self-consciousness is how to account for knowing self-reference without launching into a regress or without presupposing self-consciousness rather than accounting for it (circle). In the literature we find two bottom-up proposals for solving the traditional problem: the postulation of nonconceptual forms of self-consciousness and the postulation of a pre-reflexive form of...

Effects of Foot Reflexology and Tactile Stimulation on Consciousness and Physiological Indicators of Traumatic Patients

Background: Brain injuries are a major cause of mortality and disability. Sensory stimulation can reduce the complications of brain injuries in the patients.  Objectives: To compare the effect of foot reflexology with tactile stimulation of the hand on level of consciousness and physiological indicators in traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients  Materials & Methods: 60 TBI patients hospitalize...

Implications of rare neurological disorders and perceptual errors in natural and synthetic consciousness

Recent theories on natural and synthetic consciousness overlook the geometric structure necessary for awareness of 3-dimensional space, as strikingly illustrated by left-neglect disorder. Furthermore, awareness of 3-dimensional space entails some surprisingly tenacious optical illusions, as demonstrated by an experiment in the text. Awareness of linear time is also crucial and complex. As a con...

Explaining Consciousness

scious, though if ordinary dreams are ever conscious states they are counterexamples to this generalization.3 Whatever the case about that, the property of creature consciousness is relatively unproblematic. We can see this by considering creatures mentally less well-endowed than we are whose mental states are never conscious, even·when they are awake.4 Their mental states are all like the nonc...

The traditional classification of the four states of consciousness waking stae, dream state, sleep state and transcendence state is combined through quantum states of mind ordinary perception, extra sensory perception and extra-ordinary perception to create a 12 state consciousness perception matrix. The paper elaborates on the concept and nature of the three quantum states of mind, their corre...
